Community medicine focuses on society as a whole as much as for each individual in it, but not limited to doctors or health workers, as it is characterized with comprehensive view of inclusiveness that links between health and behavioral aspects of social , economic, environmental parts , and make the responsibility of maintaining health is a shared responsibility between the individual and society, health institutions. The ultimate goal of community medicine and related sciences is to operate on multiple health aspects to support health service. Community Medicine has three basic goals: a comprehensive view to humans, maintaining human rights and prevention programs. The department of Family and Community Medicine was established in 1432 AH. The department applies modern theories in medical education in study field and uses it to prepare students and teaching staff to understand the society's health problems, discover and study it in nature and then set up the right solutions for them. The main objective of the department is preparing a qualified doctor capable of coping with health problems in KSA, and to enrich their skills and knowledge that would enable it to service the family and society.
