The awarded degree:
The faculty of medicine awards bachelor's degree in general medicine and surgery (MBBS) after completing 7 years approved program, including the preparatory year and the year of internship.
The bachelor degree is awarded after successful completion of 6 years program of approved curriculum. The first year is preparatory followed by study of basic science in the next 2 years, clinical study in the last 3 years, in addition to one year internship organized by the faculty of medicine and the Directorate of Health Affairs
In preparatory year program which was approved by NBU, student take on courses such as essential of natural science which include (physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology and statistics) in addition to communication skills, computer and intensive English language course. This preparatory year program only applicable to students who are accepted in faculty of science, medicine, engineering, applied medical science, nursing, pharmacy, computer science, information technology, scientific university college and scientific home economy.

Upon successful completion of 6 years bachelor degree, students must spend 12 month internship year in one of the area hospitals after coordination with faculty admission office.
