The curriculum of the Mechanical Engineering (ME) program at Northern Border University designed to serve the industrial sectors, social communities and civilization programs in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As the ME program of King Abdel Aziz University has been accredited by ABET since 2007 and its curriculum satisfies the ME program criteria, our ME program’s curriculum is initially based on the benefits of the King Abdel Aziz University ME program. Then our ME curriculum is modified by the faculty members to prepare a graduate either for an engineering career in industrial establishment or for further post graduate studies in international universities.
After finishing the core compulsory courses, the student can choose one of two specialization tracks. These tracks are: (1) Mechanical Power Engineering and (2) Production Engineering and Mechanical Design.
Our ME curriculum courses include total of 162 credit hours, divided into four categories, first preparatory year requirements (27), university requirements (14), Faculty requirements (35), and mechanical engineering department requirements (86); 61 for ME basic courses and 25 for each track.
