Visiting Civil Defense Department by PY students at Northern  Border University in Ar'ar

Under the guidance of the Dean of the Preparatory Year and Supportive studies, Dr. Moqbil Bin Salem Alenazi, and within the events of the Student activities Unit, a group of PY students visited the Civil Defense Department in Ar'ar's Al-Faisaliah neighborhood, to activate the partnership between the university and other institutions, both private and governmental. The visit also aimed at acquainting students with the affective role played by the department to protect citizens. The head of the C.D. Department, the Line officer, Fahd Sa'ad Al-juhani outlined the history of the civil defense in the KSA which was first instituted in 01/01/1346 H. He also explained the abundant role played the department sparing no effort in order to guarantee protection to all Saudi society, and make use of all available means to deliver awareness and guidance for every citizen and resident of the land of this blessed country. In the speech he included a detailed explanation of firefighting materials, where he explained that the appropriate choice of materials greatly helps in putting out the fire very quickly. Some of these materials are: halos powder, carbon dioxide, foam, and water. This was followed by some training sessions to train students on putting out fires. 

At the end of the meeting, Al-juhani thanked the management of the university and the deanship of PY for the effective role they play in enhancing students' abilities to act properly in emergency situations through the awareness programs. Students, in turn, thanked the C.D. Department for their hospitality and for the significant information the department produced. Students also wished a greater success for the department and for the whole country.
