Scientific activities of the Basic Science Department in the Deanship of the Preparatory year and Supportive Studies – The Academic year 1436/ 1437

To know more about these activities, a meeting has been held with Prof. Dr. Osama Mahmoud Shalabiyah, the head of the Basic Science Department in the deanship, who informed us of the following:

In addition to teaching, scientific research is considered the corner stone of any university. It benefits both the researcher and the whole society. Authentic scientific research is known as collecting data from trusted references, analysing these data, and then getting the results systematically to reach the facts.

The process of scientific research starts with having a hypothesis about a certain issue. The researcher employs the suitable research methodology to get to the results after analysing them. The research should be precise, concise, and objective.

According to the instructions of Dr. Moqbil bin Salem Al-Enzi, the dean of the Prep Year and Supportive Studies, the Basic Science Department represented the deanship and introduced six research projects to both the Deanship of Scientific Research at the university and to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh:

The first paper was introduced by the Scientific Research Deanship, entitled "Studying the Change in the Earth's Magnetic Field Caused by Solar Storms by Installing a Magnetometer".

Major researcher: Dr.  Moqbil bin Salem Al-Enzi

Co-researcher: Prof. Dr. Osama Mahmoud Shalabiyah

The second paper introduced by the Scientific Research Deanship was entitled "Antioxidant Effects Stimulating the Immune System to the Extract Esculent Pleurotus Ostreatus".

Major researcher: Prof. Dr. Wael Yousuf Attia

The third paper introduced was entitled "Testing Hydro-magnetic Stability of Cylindrical Fluid Under the Influence of Self-change Gravity and Surface Tension of the Variable Magnetic Field."

Researcher: Dr. Mohamed Hindi Mahdi Hindi

The fourth paper was entitled "High-energy Cosmic Rays by Using the Monitoring by Some Developed Reagents", and it was introduced by King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh.

Major researcher: Prof. Dr. Osama Mahmoud Shalabiyah
