The Northern Borders University Scholarship offers its program to attract academically outstanding non-Saudi students residing inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the aim of financing their tuition fees and helping them to obtain an outstanding education that is in line with their future prospects. The admission requirements applicable to Saudis in higher education institutions apply to the students of the Northern Borders University Scholarship in Saudi Arabia.

Scholarship Definition

It is the study seat that a non-Saudi student obtains to study in one of the higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The scholarships are divided into two sections:
A) Northern Borders University Scholarship for Students Residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Regular Residency.
B)Northern Borders University Scholarship for Students Outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

• Establishing scientific and cultural links with educational institutions and scientific bodies and institutions in the world, and documenting them to serve humanity.
• Introducing scholarship students to the scientific, economic, political, social and health renaissance that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing. 

• Conditions of the Northern Borders University Scholarship in Saudi Arabia for Saudis

• The student must be a resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia valid before the start of the study.
• The applicant's age should not be less than (17) years and not more than (25) years for the undergraduate stage, (30) years for the master's level, and (35) years for the doctoral stage, and the Council of the educational institution has the right to make an exception to this.
• The applicant must have a high school certificate or its equivalent from inside or outside the Kingdom.
• The high school diploma must be issued by a public school or an equivalent school at the university
• The applicant must not have completed more than five years since obtaining the high school certificate.
• The student must be of good conduct and behavior.
• Be medically fit.
• The applicant must undertake to abide by the rules and regulations of the university.
• The applicant must pass any test or personal interview conducted by the relevant authority.
• The applicant must be fully committed to studying and not be authorized to work.
• The applicant must have a General Aptitude Test Certificate and Achievement Test if his secondary certificate is from within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Students must be accompanied by a mahram, provided that the mahram is a holder of a valid residence permit.
• Certificates and identification documents must be attested by the competent authorities.
• Scholarship students are eligible to apply for all majors at the university except health majors.
• Not be accepted in an educational institution in the Kingdom.
• The applicant must meet any other conditions determined by the University Council and announced at the time of application.
• Attach all the required official identification documents when submitting the application.

• Admission Conditions for Saudi Students

• The application for the Northern Borders University Internal Scholarship is done electronically through the university's website (Scholarship Agency) when the application is announced
• The student's papers are checked and verified to be correct.
• The student's data is uploaded to the Ministry of Education electronically.
• The student will be notified of his/her admission to the university in case he/she is accepted and his/her application is approved

• Conditions of the Northern Borders University Scholarship for Non-Saudis

• The applicant's age should not be less than (17) years and not more than (25) years for the undergraduate stage, (30) years for the master's level, and (35) years for the doctoral stage, and the Council of the educational institution has the right to make an exception to this.
• The student must be of good conduct and behavior.

• The student's high school diploma must be from outside Saudi Arabia.
• Pledge to abide by the University's rules and regulations
• The applicant must pass any test or personal interview conducted by the relevant authority.
• The certificates and identification documents must be attested by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, or the cultural attachés in the student's country
• The student must not have received another scholarship from an educational institution in the Kingdom
• The applicant must not be dismissed from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.
• The student must commit to full-time study for regular students in the morning period, and he is not entitled to work during the scholarship period.
• The student must have a male relative who has a scholarship or he must be a resident with a legal residence permit
• The scholarship applicant is not entitled to transfer from one university to another, and the university may make an exception in cases it deems appropriate.
• The university may require letters of recommendation or recommendation for the student from one of the bodies, institutions, or personalities accepted by the university.
•  The applicant must meet any other conditions specified by the University Council and announced at the time of application.
• Nominations are made for all majors at the university except health majors.
• Attach all the required official identification documents when submitting the application.

Admission Mechanism for Non-Saudi Students

• External grant applications are submitted during:
  • The Kingdom's embassies and representatives abroad.
  • Distinguished students are attracted by the University of Northern Borders
  • The student applies electronically through the university's website
• The student's data is audited and verified to be correct.
• Applicants are sorted.
• The accepted student is notified to visit the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for approval and attestation of his documents.
• The necessary visa shall be issued to the student and informed of this to complete his/her travel procedures to the Kingdom.
•  The student nominated for admission is contacted.

Required Documents

• A copy of the high school certificate with transcript translated into Arabic or English after attestation from the Saudi embassy or the cultural attaché in the student's country.
• A copy of a valid passport with a validity period of not less than six months
• All letters of recommendation or recommendation for the student from one of the bodies, institutions, or personalities accepted by the university.
• A certificate of no record from the security services in his country.
• Consent from the government of his country to allow him to study at the university, or a statement that the law in his country allows the student to travel to any country to study
• A recent medical report on the safety of the organs and senses and the freedom from infectious diseases, issued by an accredited medical center, and certified by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

General provisions about Northern Borders University Scholarship in Saudi Arabia

• The student of the Northern Borders University Scholarship must leave the Kingdom after the completion of his/her studies, within a period not exceeding three months from the date of its expiration.
• If the original program period has expired, it may not be extended by more than half.
• The residency regulations in the Kingdom apply to the scholarship applicant.
• The student is on the university's record during the scholarship.
• A Northern Borders University scholarship student is not entitled to transfer from Northern Borders University to any other university, and the university may make an exception to this in cases it deems appropriate.
• The student of the Northern Borders University Overseas University Scholarship is prohibited from working for companies, institutions, or individuals during the period of study.
• The residency regulations in the Kingdom apply to the scholarship applicant.
• The student is on the university's record during the scholarship.
